IsDB Scholarship Requirements

Candidates must meet all of the following requirements to be eligible for an Islamic Development Bank Scholarship:

  • English is required.
  • Eligible Member countries of the IsDB
  • For Undergraduate Program: 
    • Candidates must have completed senior secondary school (or the equivalent of nearly 12 years of schooling) and have received good grades in major courses.
    • Be ineligible for any other scholarship;
    • Be medically fit and willing to undertake medical exams following selection.
  • For Master’s Program: 
    • Have a minimum academic status (“Very Good”) and preferably employment and/or research experience.
    • Have a research proposal in one of the program’s areas of study, stating its scientific and developmental significance to the community / country.
    • Be in good health and willing to undertake medical testing after being chosen.
  • For PhD Study: 
    • Have a master’s degree in one of the program’s research disciplines.
    • Have a minimum academic status (“Very Good”) and preferably employment and/or research experience.
    • Have a research proposal in one of the program’s topics of study, stating its scientific and developmental significance to the community / country.
    • Be in good health and willing to undertake medical testing after being chosen.
  • For Post-doctoral Research:
    • Have a PhD in one of the program’s recognized fields.
    • Have a minimum academic standing (“Very Good”).
    • Have at least two (2) years of experience in the research field.
    • A track record of publications and research in the same topic is required.
    • Have a research proposal in one of the program’s topics of study, stating its scientific and developmental significance to the community / country.
    • Be in good health and willing to undertake medical testing after being chosen.
  • For Vocational Education Training:
    • Citizens of any of the 21 LDMCs countries in the IsDB.
    • High school diploma with a minimum of excellent grades in major areas.
    • Have not received any additional scholarships.
    • Be in good health and willing to undergo medical testing after being chosen.

Obligations:

  • Be in good health and willing to undertake medical testing after being chosen.
  • Sign the Scholarship Agreement stipulated by the IsDB, pledging to complete their education and serve their communities and nations after graduation.
  • Dedicate themselves to their studies full-time and without interruption, and make regular progress reports to the IsDB on their studies.
  • During their time in the Program, they are not to pursue or accept any other scholarship or paid labor.
  • Respect the laws of the study nation and maintain good personal and professional conduct in accordance with the Program’s rules, regulations, and objectives, as well as the IsDB’s overall mission.
  • After graduation, join the IsDB Alumni to network with other alumnus and keep the IsDB up to date on their progress and successes in their communities/countries.

How can I apply for IsDB Scholarship 2023? To apply for the IsDB scholarship program, please follow the steps below:

  1. Apply for admission to the college or university of your choice.
  2. Complete the application for an IsDB scholarship.
  3. After completing the registration process, you will receive an email with your username and password to access your account.
  4. Upload the following documents for the Undergraduate Scholarship:
    • National ID\Passport.
    • Certified true copy of Birth Certificate.
    • Certificate of Good Health from a medical doctor or a hospital.
    • Certified true copy of High School transcripts’ certificate.

  8. Students must sign a Surety Bond indicating their dedication to their studies, their return to their nations upon completion of their studies, and their willingness to serve their communities and countries in order to be eligible for this grant.
