KAIST Undergraduate Scholarship 2023 | Korea Selatan

International students are invited to apply for the fully funded KAIST Undergraduate Scholarship 2023-2024 available for only master’s degree studies. This scholarship will cover the entire tuition, a monthly allowance of up to 800,000 KRW, one economy round trip, Korean language training fees, and medical insurance.

KAIST Undergraduate Scholarship Benefits

The KAIST University Undergraduate Scholarship for international students offers the following benefits to the recipient:

  • KAIST International Student Scholarship:
    • Full tuition fee exemption for eight semesters
    • 350,000 KRW per month for living expenses
    • Health care insurance
  • Global Korea Scholarship:
    • Full tuition fee exemption for 8 semesters.
    • Monthly living expenses of 800,000 KRW.
    • One round-trip economy flight ticket.
    • Fee for Korean language training: One year of Korean language training is required, and if the student does not achieve TOPIK grade 3 within a year, she/he will be ineligible to enter the degree program.

KAIST Undergraduate Scholarship Requirements

To be eligible for the KAIST Undergraduate Scholarship for international students, candidates must meet all of the requirements listed below:

  • English is a required language.
  • All countries in the world are eligible. Applicants with dual citizenship in Korea are NOT eligible to apply as international students.
  • Candidates who have graduated or will graduate from high school by February 28th, 2023 are eligible for the Spring Semester, 2023 (EARLY only).
  • Candidates who have graduated or will graduate from high school by August 31st, 2023 are eligible for the Fall Semester of 2023.

How to Apply for KAIST Undergraduate Scholarship

How can I apply for the KAIST Undergraduate Scholarship? To apply for the KAIST Undergraduate Scholarship for international students, please follow the steps outlined below:

1. Fill out the online application form at the official website.

2. By credit card or bank transfer, pay the application fee (about USD 80 or 80,000 KRW).

3. On the application page, upload scanned copies of the following additional supporting documents. The uploaded copies must be signed by the school principal or the organization’s head/director and must be clear and readable.

  • One letter of recommendation.
  • Profile of a Secondary or Tertiary School
  • Transcript from high school or university.
  • Official Standardized Test Report
  • Report on the English Proficiency Test.
  • Passport or national identification card
  • Financial Resources Statement – KAIST Scholarship
  • Sponsorship Statement of Financial Resources
  • Awards and Honors (Optional).

Note:

  • Only ONE letter of recommendation from a teacher will be considered.
  • An academic advisor, homeroom teacher, or math/science teacher should write the recommendation letter.
  • The letter must be written in either Korean or English.
  • Recommendations must be sent electronically through the online application platform. We will send your teacher a link to submit your recommendation letter online by the deadline once you have paid the application fee.
  • It is critical that you correctly enter your recommender’s email address on your online application form so that they each receive an automated email with instructions on how to proceed with their recommendation through the online process.
  • Once your recommender submits the recommendation letter, your application will be complete.
  • Hard copies of recommendation letters are NOT permitted.
