Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Requirements

Candidates must meet all of the following requirements to be considered for Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Fellowships:

  • English is a required language.
  • All countries in the world are eligible.
  • You are a woman who lives in a developing country or an emerging economy. If you have dual citizenship, one of which is in a developed country, you are ineligible to apply. (Note: If you receive a Faculty for the Future grant and later obtain citizenship in a developed nation, the grant will be terminated as of the date of such extra citizenship);
  • You are pursuing a PhD or post-doctoral research in the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM). In the biological sciences, awards are only given for multidisciplinary research including both physical and biological sciences. Master’s level studies are not funded by the Faculty for the Future program
  • You are enrolled, admitted, or have applied to a host university/research institute overseas (applications are no longer accepted where a candidate has not yet applied to a university). If you are applying for a sandwich course, the final degree must be awarded by the Host University abroad (i.e., not from the home country university);
  • You must have an excellent academic record;
  • You must have a proven track record of teaching experience or can demonstrate commitment to teaching;
  • You can demonstrate active PARTICIPATION in faculty life and outreach programs to encourage young women into the sciences;
  • You are eager to contribute to the socioeconomic growth of your home country and region by improving the faculties at your home university, conducting relevant research, or applying your specialized knowledge to public policy issues.
