Full scholarship covers:

  • Registration, tuition, on-campus housing, laboratory expenses, internship fees, and basic learning materials fees are all waived.
  • Comprehensive insurance of ¥800 per student per year in China.
  • Living allowance (10-month): ¥1400 per month for Bachelor’s degree; ¥1700 per month for Master’s degree; ¥2000 per month for Doctoral degree.
  • One- time settlement of ¥800 per student for new students.

Partial scholarship covers:

  • Undergraduate: ¥20000 per student per year.
  • Master: ¥30000 per student per year.

How to Apply

How can I apply for the Tianjin government scholarship 2023? Please follow the steps below to apply for a Tianjin Government Scholarship:

  1. To apply for the program and the scholarship, the applicant must prepare all the necessary document:
    • Each item requires two copies.
    • The highest degree must be accompanied by translations in Chinese or English.
    • Official transcripts must be accompanied by Chinese or English translations.
    • Personal Statement in Chinese or English, including study or research plans, personal background, financial situation, personal strengths, and so on (no less than 800 words for Master’s and Doctoral degree applications, no less than 300 words for Bachelor’s degree applications).
    • Two Professors’ or associate professors’ letters of recommendation must be written in Chinese or English. (Applicants for a bachelor’s degree should submit one recommendation letter.)
    • Applicants for the Chinese-teaching discipline must have HSK level 4 or higher. Those who have not achieved the required HSK 4 level or who have no knowledge of Chinese can apply for two months or a year of scholarship-covered remedial Chinese language studies before beginning their major studies. Applicants whose first language is not English and who wish to pursue a career in English education should submit TOEFL (above 87) or IELTS (above 6.0) scores.
    • Foreigner Physical Examination Form (printed by the Chinese Quarantine Authority – only required for those studying in China for more than six months) filled out in English. All of the items on the Foreigner Physical Examination Form must be covered by the medical examinations. Incomplete records, as well as those lacking the signature of the attending physician, an official hospital stamp, or a sealed (stamped) photograph of the applicants, are considered invalid. The results of the medical examination will be valid for six months. All applicants are kindly asked to consider this factor when deciding when to take the medical examination.
    • Passport photocopy
    • The application fee for graduate study is ¥600 or US$100, and the application fee for undergraduate study is ¥400 or US$75. This application fee can be submitted in person to the Nankai University Registry (the ground floor of the Nankai University Student Activity Center) or wired to the following account:

  2. To fill out the online application, applicants must first create a new account on the university website.
  3. The applicant must complete the online application, submit it, and print it.
  4. Send all required documents to the International Student Office by May 10th.
  5. Interviewing Applicant (You will be informed by email).

  • A student is eligible for a scholarship only after being accepted to Nankai University.
  • By the end of June, the International Student Section will announce the scholarship winners.
