University of Strathclyde Performance Sport Scholarship 2023

International students interested in pursuing undergraduate or master’s studies at University of Strathclyde in the UK for the 2023/2024 academic year are invited to apply for the University of Strathclyde Performance Sports Scholarships. The University of Strathclyde Performance Sport Scholarship Program seeks to provide excellent student-athletes with the opportunity to pursue a dual career, earning their degree while also pursuing their sports goals.

Academic flexibility, world-class sports science and medical support, and financial assistance for training and competition expenditures are all goals of the program. The Performance Sport Scholarship Program is administered on a one-year renewable basis, with applications reviewed by the Performance Sport Panel each year.

Performance Sport Scholars receive a complete support package of up to £4,750 per year, which is made possible by generous donations from the University of Strathclyde Alumni Community.

University of Strathclyde Performance Sport Scholarship Requirements

Candidates must meet all of the following requirements to be considered for the University of Strathclyde Performance Sport Scholarship:

  • English is required.
  • All countries in the world are eligible.
  • Undergraduate, postgraduate taught, and postgraduate research students (full-time and part-time).
  • All applicants must compete in a Sportscotland-recognized sport, with priority given to students competing in a BUCS-recognized sport who can demonstrate the ability to help the University achieve its goal of being ranked in the top 20 in the UK by 2023/2024.
  • All applicants must compete at the International Junior or Senior level.
  • Furthermore, we actively encourage students to participate in disability sport at an elite level, and our new £31 million Sports Facility is entirely accessible.

The High Performance Sport Panel reviews applications each year and awards the Performance Sport Scholarship Program on a one-year renewable basis.

Performance Sport Scholars receive a complete support package worth up to £5,000 per year, which is made possible by generous donations from the University of Strathclyde Alumni Community.

While athletes competing for one of our FOCUSports Clubs are given precedence, athletes competing at Senior International level in non-FOCUSports are also encouraged to apply.

How to Apply for University of Strathclyde Performance Sport Scholarship Program

To apply for the University of Strathclyde Performance Sport Scholarship, please follow the steps below:

  • An individual from your Sports Governing Body (Performance Director or similar) and Your Sports Coach’s contact information will be requested. As a result, please have this information ready before beginning your application, as you will not be able to return to it after it has begun.
  • Please fill out the online application.

You will not be able to pause and resume your application once it has started. As a result, before you begin your application, you should watch this 5-minute video, which guides you through all of the questions you’ll be asked. Please use this guidance to ensure that you have all of the necessary information before beginning your application.

Throughout the year, scholarship applications are examined four times. Rounds one, two, three, and four have application deadlines of January (only prospective students), April (only prospective students), June (current and prospective students holding University offers), and of August (new students with confirmed places at the University), respectively.
